Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Ing. Ondrej Rehacek (Developer) (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal data in connection with the Udon software and website. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to license the software, provide updates, and support you.

1. Data we collect

Licensing data. To issue and verify your license, Udon sends your Mac’s hardware serial number, the app version, and the device hostname to our licensing service. We store this together with your license status and a timestamp of the last check.
Network data. Our servers receive your IP address with each request and use it transiently for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
Purchase data. Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your billing details and payment information; we receive order and license status (such as your email and plan) but never your full card number.
Support data. If you email us, we receive your message and contact details so we can respond.
Docs chat. Ask AI sends your question, recent chat messages, and the documentation page you are viewing to OpenRouter and its model provider to generate an answer.

Udon runs on your own machine. Your containers, files, credentials, and other server data stay on your Mac. We do not collect or have access to them.

2. How we use data

to create, verify, and enforce your license;
to deliver software updates and the application catalog;
to process purchases and refunds (through Paddle);
to provide support and respond to your requests;
to secure our services and prevent abuse;
to comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you (licensing, updates, support), on the basis of our legitimate interests (securing our services), and to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting records kept by our payment processor).

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us run Udon:

Paddle: payment processing and Merchant-of-Record services;
Railway: hosting of our licensing, update, and catalog services;
Cloudflare: DNS and email routing for our domain.
OpenRouter and its model providers: answers in the documentation's Ask AI chat.

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

5. Retention

We keep licensing data for as long as your license is active and as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. Payment and tax records are retained by Paddle as required by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

7. Cookies

Our marketing website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function. The Udon dashboard, which runs on your own machine, uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
