Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Udon software and related services (together, “Udon” or the “Service”), provided by Ing. Ondrej Rehacek (Developer) (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By installing, accessing, or using Udon, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Udon.

1. The Service

Udon is software you install on your own Mac to run and manage it as a home server. Udon runs on your hardware and under your control; we provide the software, a licensing service, application catalog, and software updates.

2. Licenses

Udon is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and your payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive license to install and use Udon:

• Try for 5 days: use every feature free. After the five days end, a one-time purchase is required to continue using the management interface.
• Lifetime: a one-time purchase that licenses Udon for a single Mac, tied to its hardware serial number. No licensing account is required. Updates are included for the lifetime of the product.

The Lifetime license includes software updates (new features, improvements, and security patches) and early previews of new features.

3. Billing and payment processor

Payments are processed by our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle. When you purchase a license, your order is a transaction with Paddle, and Paddle’s terms also apply. Prices are shown at checkout and may include applicable taxes. The purchase is a one-time payment; there is no recurring billing.

4. License verification

To validate your license, Udon periodically sends your Mac’s hardware serial number, app version, and hostname to our licensing service. If a license cannot be verified for an extended period, or has expired or been revoked, Udon may lock its management interface. Containers and services you have already started keep running; only the management interface is gated.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• resell, sublicense, rent, or share your license except as expressly permitted;
• circumvent, disable, or tamper with license verification, or use Udon beyond the scope of your plan;
• use Udon for any unlawful purpose or in violation of the rights of others, or to host content you are not authorized to host;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this limitation.

6. Refunds and cancellation

Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

Udon, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by Ing. Ondrej Rehacek (Developer) and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use Udon and no other rights. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Udon is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for your own data, backups, and the security of your machine and network.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ing. Ondrej Rehacek (Developer) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Udon will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using Udon at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, the rights granted to you end and you must stop using Udon.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Continued use of Udon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are not affected.
